摘要
My experience while providing care to Muslims with ostomies clearly demonstrates the need for in-depth knowledge of the religious needs of our patients. The articles published in this issue of the Journal of Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing are an important addition to our limited evidence base in this area of care. I encourage additional qualitative studies designed to deepen our understanding of the lived experience of persons with ostomies in the various regions of the world where the Islamic faith is practiced. © 2016 Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society™.
