摘要
Leveraging upper echelons theory, this study explores the relationship between top management teams' (TMT) socio-demographic traits and employee satisfaction. Analyzing employee satisfaction survey data for 197 Indian firms from the information technology, entertainment and tourism industries, we find that a TMT's higher average age and larger size deteriorates employee satisfaction. Furthermore, functional and educational heterogeneity is positively related to employee satisfaction. We discuss the implications of this research for employee job satisfaction as well as upper echelons theory.
