Distributed Control of Energy-Storage Systems for Voltage Regulation in Distribution Network with High PV Penetration

摘要
The application of residential photovoltaics (PVs) is useful regarding mitigation of environment and eradication of energy crisis. However, hosting capacity of distribution network (DN) is restricted due to voltage problem caused by high proportion of residential PVs. In this paper, the energy storage systems (ESSs) are used to overcome the issue of voltage rise in peak PV production and voltage drop to attain the load demand. When the voltage cross the limits, the power shortage estimation method based back/forward algorithm is used to calculate the power shortfall. Then, the distributed control algorithm based on consensus algorithm is applied to regulate the voltage within the required limits. Afterward, two consensus algorithms based on limited communication network are used: the first objective is to share the power shortage among ESS, while the second objective is to modify the output reference of ESS to make the state of charge (SOC) of ESS converge closely. The proposed control method is evaluated in distribution networks, and the simulation results validate the effectiveness of this method.
