METHODOLOGY OF ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM RELIABILITY ANALYSIS AND ASSESSMENT IN ELECTRICITY MARKET CONDITIONS

In this paper the synthetic review of state-of-art in the area of electric power system reliability analysis and assessment methodology is given. The available models, methods and computer tools are discussed as well as evaluated reliability indices and data needs. In the final part of the paper the new issues, which appeared together with electricity markets, are presented. The new requirements concerning power system reliability and its analysis methods have appeared. They are influencing on applying of described methods and tools. The new idea is that supply reliability should be considered in categories of economic risk management.
