Evaluation of theoretical model for erbium-doped silica fiber amplifiers

摘要
Amplified spontaneous emission measurements for three types of erbium-doped silica fibers are presented. The characteristic parameters of these fibers was previously obtained employing gain and pump power measurements. A theoretical model for erbium-doped silica fiber amplifiers is evaluated and its scarcities are analyzed by means of a comparison between experimental and theoretical results for gain and copropagating amplified spontaneous emission.
