摘要：

A review, with 15 refs., of serious problems in the education of chem. engineers and ways for improving their performance. In particular, a need for industrial skills, practical experience and applied know-how was evidenced. A deep cooperation between universities and industrial enterprises as well as an interdisciplinary communication inside universities were recommended.
