摘要
The main purpose of this article is to provide, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, an overview of the competence-based education framework and to illustrate the overall planning process that is essential for the successful development of a study program. A better treatment of all issues and solutions will require much more space. There are many moving parts and dependencies between them however, we believe that outlining relevant workflows and providing best practice examples helps to clarify the process for implementing a successful competence-based education program. We will take a closer look at each workflow and highlight some of the key issues, solutions, and challenges. Besides, the aim is to stimulate the use of the competence-based approach in the education process, further broadening the forms of e-learning, practical training in a real working environment, as well as increasing the culture of continuing education, increasing the role of businesses and universities in the development of the lifelong learning system. This research is done within the scope of KoMEIN Project (Conceptual Modeling and Simulation of Internet of Things Ecosystems) funded by the Bulgarian National Science Foundation.
