摘要：
Reinforcement of the Rhein-bridge Maxau - part 2 Due to fatigue cracks in the orthotropic plate of the Rhein-bridge Maxau, the reinforcement of the bridge deck is carried out by bonding a high strength concrete overlay to the deck. In Germany it is the first time, that a deck of a big steel bridge is strengthened in that manner. Valuable experience was obtained in a pilot project in advance. The construction process is described in detail. The succesful realization will allow further applications of this strengthening technique in Germany.
