摘要
Passive range detection by optical differentiation method is a novel notion first proposed by Farid. This passive-ranging system uses a single stationary camera and a pair of calibrated optical masks to measure the differential variation in image intensities with respect to changes in camera's parameters directly. In this paper, we build a general model of optical differentiation and show two special techniques for range estimating which are called the optical viewpoint differentiation and-optical aperture size differentiation.
