Isoplanatic Patch of Adaptive Optical Systems in Atmosphere with Anisotropic Non-Kolmogorov Turbulence

In last decades, more and more studies in real atmosphere detected the presence of turbulence with spectrum different from the classical Kolmogorov-Obukhov turbulence model in atmospheric boundary layer, which has named the non-Kolmogorov turbulence in the literature. In this paper the size of the isoplanatic path for an adaptive optical system operating in the surface atmospheric layers with the non-Kolmogorov anisotropic turbulence is investigated. For it the spatial correlation functions of wave aberrations are calculated in terms of Zernike polynomials using the non-Kolmogorov model for the spectral density of fluctuations of the atmospheric refractive index for the various spectral coefficients. The comparisons with the classical spectrum model corresponding to the Kolmogorov-Obukhov turbulence theory are performed also.
