The World Bank's Policy towards Argentine assistance policy (2002-2018)

The objective of this paper is to characterize the World Bank's (WB) policy towards Argentina's assistance policy during the 2002-2018 period as one aspect of the State's internationalization process. We argue that the World Bank accompanies both the political order recomposition process after the crisis at the turn of the century and, particularly, the massification, cohesion and technification process of the assistance policy, which underpinned such recomposition. Also, within the context of the stagnation and the current crisis of the Argentine economy, the Bank is pushing for monetary and tax adjustment while seeking to strengthen the assistance policy. The work is based on the analysis of documents and projects approved by said organization.
