Dinuclear Eu+3 and Tb+3 complexes based on 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(diphenylphosphinyl)-benzene: Synthesis and luminescence properties

摘要
A dinuclear Eu(III) and Tb(III) trinitrate complexes, {[Eu(H2O)(NO3)3]2L}center dot H2O (1) and {[Tb(CH3OH)(NO3)3]2L} (2), has been synthesized by the reaction of 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(diphenylphosphino)benzene (L) with 2 equiv. of Eu(NO3)3 center dot 6H2O and Tb(NO3)3 center dot 5H2O. Both complexes were structurally characterized and their photo physical properties were studied. Complex {[Eu(H20)(NO3)3]2L}center dot H2O strongly emits light in the characteristic red region and complex {[Tb(CH3OH)(NO3)3]2L} strongly emits light in the green region. The luminescence quantum yields for both complexes are quite high.
