摘要
Wearable technology had brought inspiration to the development of textile antenna. However, the performance of a textile antenna is very sensitive and very unstable since there are many tolerance issues such as stretch effect, humidity effect and bending effect that shall be taken into account due to the flexible textile structure that may cause performance degradation. Thus, the crucial step to ensure that the antenna can perform well is to identify the most suitable feed line technique. The key for an antenna to work efficiently is to ensure maximum power transfer between the source and the antenna, such as the signal is fed at a point where the input impedance is 50 ohms. This paper presents the analysis of different feeding techniques applied on the proposed textile antenna. In this study, coaxial feed technique and transmission line feed technique are analyzed. The simulation is done in CST software and the antenna is fabricated to validate its performance. The investigation shows that the coaxial feed technique is more suitable to be used because the correct input impedance can be achieved easily in fabrication as compared to the transmission feed line technique and have more advantages as per discussed in this paper.
