摘要
The study was carried-out to find the best month to start the protein-energetic supplementation.for beef cattle raised on farms of the "Zona da Mata Mineira", State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Three groups of 38 Holstein-Zebu crossbred males were supplemented for 125, 94 and 59 days of the dry season. The accumulated weight gain, since the first weighing on June, did not differ from the three experimental groups supplemented during those different phases of the dry season. Thus, on farms where the forage availability is not a limiting factor, the protein-energetic supplementation could be started in JunelJuly instead of May as routinely recommended in the region.
