This article reviews and summarizes perspectives of electronic publication gained through experience in publishing, with CD-ROM/WWW technology, the August 1996 IEEE Transactions on Education special issue on the application of information technologies to engineering and science education, as well as Rapid Publication Supplements to the November 1997 and November 1998 issues of this Transactions.
