There are few studies, especially controlled studies, of induction of tolerance in children allergic to eggs. Nevertheless, the results are encouraging. The study protocols are very diverse and not very comparable. Gradual evolution of the elimination diet with introduction of hard-boiled eggs, when tolerated, might favor acquisition of tolerance. The exact indications for immunotherapy remain to be defined, particularly regarding the age of onset of the allergy, since a certain number of infants will spontaneously acquire tolerance to eggs.
