摘要
It is shown that by irradiating nickel titanium surfaces with a low-energy high-current electron beam of a microsecond duration at the energy densities of E-s = 1.5 and 3.7 J/cm(2) using n = 5 pulses it is possible to improve the fatigue characteristics of the material by nearly a factor of 1.5 due to surface cleaning from the particles/inclusions of Ti2Ni, TiC(O) and due to the presence in the TiNi surface layer of compressive residual stresses oriented perpendicular to the irradiated surface.
