摘要
This study investigated non-competitive cyclists' comfort during cycling activities. An online survey of 92 noncompetitive cyclists revealed their levels of comfort when cycling for commuting/non-commuting purposes. Study findings show: 1) inconvenience is the main factor preventing non-competitive cyclists from wearing cycling pants; 2) during commuting cycling, cyclists in certain groups feel more discomfort than those in other groups; 3) during non-commuting cycling, cyclists' discomfort initially increases but decreases as the cycling duration increases. The study provides practical guidance for consumers selecting cycling garments and for designers developing cycling apparel for non-competitive cyclists. Findings are also theoretically significant for assessment of cycling comfort and cycling apparel design for non-competitive cyclists.
