摘要
A heated-mould continuous casting process has been used to generate tin strips with a unidirectional morphology at casting speeds between 4 and 525 mm/min. It was found that the strips exhibited a striated substructure in various patterns influenced by cooling conditions and casting speed. The crystal orientation of strips examined by electron channeling pattern (ECP) analysis indicated that the orientation perpendicular to the top surface of the strips was in the vicinity of the [001] direction regardless of the casting speed used. The fluctuation in the orientation increased at higher casting speeds due to the development of a mosaic structure.
