摘要
A study on the processing and microstructures of an Al-Li/SiCp composite is presented in this paper. The AA8090 Al-Li alloy powders with two sizes of <38 mu m and 38 similar to 100 mu m were chosen respectively to mix with 20% volume SiCP by centrifugal ball milling at 500rpm. The composite billet were fabricated by hot pressing at 300 degrees C under 440MPa and then extruded isothermally at 500 degrees C with a reduction ratio of 10:1 or 20:1. Microstructures of the composite are examined. Optimum matching relationship between particle sizes of matrix and reinforcement and their influences on microstructures of the composite are discussed.
