摘要
The abundance of wild boar (Sus scrofa) can cause serious damage to field crops. Significant losses occur especially in winter during the vegetation dormancy period. This is caused by the wild boars searching for crop residues during which the successive crop is damaged. The aim of the study is to compare the damage to winter wheat during dormancy period and its subsequent regeneration in relation to the three preceding crops: 1. sugar beet (Beta vulgaris var. altissima), 2. lucerne (Me-dicago sativa) and 3. spring pea (Pisum sativum ssp. arvense). The greatest damage to winter wheat was found in areas with sugar beet as the preceding crop. The consequent losses of winter wheat production were 86%. On the other hand the lowest damage was found in the field with lucerne as the preceding crop (6%). In the case of lower damage of winter wheat there was a tendency to compensate for the losses by higher weight of grain in the ear.
