Ultrasonic energy with LCS (Laparosonic Coagulating Shears, Ethicon Endo-Suregery, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA) is a hemostatically active cutting device for major laparoscopic surgery. LCS being capable of grasping, coagulating and cutting the tissue simultaneously can simplify the procedure and instrumentation in laparoscopic hysterectomy. The procedure is highlighted and the results of the 42 first cases operated with the technique are presented.
