Influence of the groove design of wet clutch discs on the flow within the clearance

摘要
The paper addresses the experimental and numerical analysis of the drag torque of a radial grooved wet clutch disc. For this investigation certain geometry parameters e.g. groove width, groove angle or number of grooves are varied. In order to carry out the required measurements and to identify the dependencies of the drag torque a further developed single disc test rig is used. The causes for the flow influence of each groove parameter is discussed and for certain operating parameters the measurements are compared with the results of a validated 3D - CFD calculation model.
