摘要
The clergy of Europe played an important role in sustaining the soldiers' morale on the front. Both the priests of the Entente countries and those of the Central Powers ones contributed to the war propaganda, each of them supporting the interests of the military alliance he belonged to. Although situated at the edge of the Christian moral, the involvement of the clergy in promoting exaggerated nationalism and blaming the enemy through all kinds of accusations was a reality of the World War I. This study presents the clergy's attitude towards war and their role in the spiritual support of the soldiers on the great European fronts.
