Continuous semiconductor solid solutions with new chemical compounds and their possible applications

Formula for solubility in terms of differences of valences and radii of atoms of molecules of the compounds is given. Molecular elements and some combinations of chemical elements not shown in phase diagrams are considered as new chemical compounds (NCC). The condition of the formation of continuous (concentrated) solid solutions (CSS) with NCC is suggested. Possible applications of these solid solutions to develop new materials for the buffer layers of heterostructures silicon based monolithic tandem solar cells (SC) IR detectors and high temperature semiconductor devices are discussed.
