摘要
New innovation on arrester technology has been made by appearance of Multi Chamber Arrester (MCA). This kind of arrester has basic principle similar to previous technology which use air gap and air pressure in chamber as its technology. MCA has a function to protect overhead line from lightning. For instance, 20 kV medium voltage overhead line. Field testing has been set up to get analysis on MCA. Field testing has been done on 20 kV medium voltage overhead line of feeder Ruko of PLN Serpong. After a certain period of installation, line fault pattern of feeder Ruko is then captured to get the analysis. The analysis is used to get conclusions whether MCA is appropriate for lightning protection system on 20 kV overhead lines.
