摘要
A pilot study of a quantitative type, descriptive cross-sectional design, aimed to identify the care and its repercussions on the family caregiver of dependent older adults in a public hospital in Lambayeque, 2020. The participants were 25 family caregivers of dependent older adults. The questionnaire on care and its impact on family caregivers of dependent people based on Henderson's theory was used. The results show that the care provided by family caregivers to dependent older adults is: they keep company, supervise hygiene, self-administer medications, monitor to avoid accidents and buy food for them. The main repercussions on family caregivers are: they have less free time, they have reduced their finances, they eat at the wrong time, they have modified their leisure activities, they are more tired, their quality of life being affected as the level of dependence of the adult increases higher.
