摘要
Concrete with shredded tire is a relatively fresh construction material that has exhibited better ductility, energy dissipation and impact resistance compared to conventional concrete. Mechanical characteristics of rubberized self-compacting concrete have been explored in this research. Self-compacting concrete is able to compact under its own weight without vibration. Shredded tire was used to substitute coarse aggregates by volume at ratios of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%. Increasing percentage of shredded tire had a negative impact on compressive strength, but increased impact resistance. It indicated that more the rubber content more will be number of blows it can resist, thus more the energy absorption. Ultimate impact resistance increased by 80% when rubber content was increased from 0 to 15%. (c) 2020 Elsevier Ltd.
