摘要
In the present, research of building materials' acoustic properties comes to the forefront of interest of scientist and engineers. It is mainly due to an increasing noise level that typically occurs in industrial areas, major traffic places and places close to the airports and its negative effect on health and well-being of inhabitants in buildings located in affected areas. Brick block's acoustic properties are typically enhanced by optimization of air voids geometry and by appropriate bulk materials fillings placed into the voids. Bulk material filling into the voids should be economically advantageous and should not be technically complicated. Thus, sealing plugs must be prepared from a convenient material by using cheap technology. Such material should exhibit good mechanical properties, sufficiently fast setting time and good adhesion to the brick body. In this paper, five types of materials were investigated. It was namely cement mortar, polyurethane foam, thin-film polyurethane-based adhesive, gypsum-based composite and geopolymer-based composite with respect to their applicability for utilization as sealing plugs in acoustic brick blocks.
