During the last few decades, interest in engineering ethics has been rapidly increasing. This article focuses on the specific area of engineering ethics pertaining to engineering design. Two ethical aspects of the design processes are highlighted: the formulation of design requirements and criteria, and the acceptance of the trade-offs between different design criteria.
