Mannich bases are formed in a noncatalytic multicomponent reaction, which is promoted by ultrasound irradiation. The procedure avoids the use of toxic solvents, catalyst, and purification, generating the desired compounds in excellent yields and short reaction times. [GRAPHICS] .
