摘要
The ways in which democracies die today are difficult to grasp and this is not a strictly methodological problem. It is the nature of the object that outlines its analytical challenges. From each theoretician of democratic crises, it is possible to think about elements of the political transition, however, the theoretical basis about what democracy is requires that the elements of the transition be properly discriminated. This work intends, through a bibliographic review, to discuss contemporary democratic crises based on the works of David Runciman (2018) and Levitsky and Ziblatt (2018), contrasting them with the canons of democratic transition theories. For this task, we identify the concepts of political transition in each work, categorizing them into de-democratization and deconsolidation and the concepts of democracy mobilized by each author.
