摘要：
A multiband planar monopole antenna with wideband characteristic is proposed for GSM900, DCS1800. PCS1900, UMTS, IMT2000, wireless broadband internet service, WiMAX2350, and WLAN2400 applications. By using a meander structure, L-shaped slots in the ground plane and tapered feeding line, wideband, and compact size characteristics can be achieved. The proposed antenna occupies an area of 50 x 19.5 mm(2) barring the ground plane. Moreover, the antenna can be easily integrated with other parts of the circuits of mobile handsets due to its planar structure. A prototype has been fabricated and tested, and the experimental results validate the design procedure. (C) 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
