Theoretical estimation of the microhardness of particulate-filled polymer nanocomposites

摘要
It is shown that the theoretical models developed to estimate the microhardness of homogeneous solids cannot adequately describe this characteristic for particulate-filled polymer nanocomposites. This description can be accomplished in terms of the model proposed for heterophase materials, which takes into account the degree to which the polymer matrix is filled with filler nanoparticles coated by the interfacial layer.
