摘要
For two dimensional photonic crystal containing of silicon cylinders placed on a hexagonal lattice structure, a Y-junction 1 x 2 power splitter is obtained in this paper. The splitter is designed to obtain an equal transmission at both the output ports. The optimal process for designing is discussed in detail. The design is simulated over the frequencies that lie inside optical window. The field is computed over the entire crystal using finite element method. The optimized design gives low loss transmission at optical telecommunication wavelength of 1550nm.
