摘要
Bone fracture detection is still not reliable, with conventional techniques. The techniques like X-rays, etc. are cumbersome, complicated and immobile. There is now need for technique to diagnose the fracture on site, say during accident on the roads. A novel audio-diagnostic technique has been developed by us which is based on stress wave propagation in the bone. This is very useful in the paramedical cases. The patient can be examined at site for the type of fracture before taking him to an emergency clinic. Design and development of such novel techniques for bone fracture diagnosis, non-destuctively and non-invasively, are presented here. Actual use of the technique on different types of bones, both in-vitro and in-vivo, is discussed in detail. Long bones have been examined in a very successful manner.
