Quantitative analysis and inspection for pharmaceutical polymorphism with injection-seeded terahertz parametric generation technique

Terahertz (THz) spectroscopy with injection-seeded terahertz parametric generation (is-TPG) technique has potential as a nondestructive transmission inspection technique for pharmaceutical tablets because of high peak power THz wave and wide dynamic range. Using a spectrometer with is-TPG technique, enalapril maleate polymorphs and fenoprofen calcium crystalline were identified by their specific absorption peaks. Quantitative analysis of these samples were conducted. The limit of detection of 0.14 wt% of fenoprofen calcium crystalline was obtained.
