摘要
In this paper, two main surface sizing agents (Styrene maleic anhydride, SMA and Styrene acrylic emulsion, SAE) were selected to investigate the effects of sizing weight on physical and ink-jet printing performances of surface sized paper. The experimental results show that when the sizing weight of H520 was 2.0g/m(2), Cobb value was reduced by 16.0% and the water resistance was improved. When H520 sizing weight was 2.2g/m(2), the roughness was decreased evidently. While the SAE sizing weight was 5.0g/m(2), Cobb value was reduced by 21.0%. For the improvement of inkjet printing performances, when H520 sizing weight was 2.15g/m(2), the gray scale density range was 0.20 to 1.39, and the print color density and tone scope were also improved remarkably. However, the cationic SAE sizing weight was 5.0g/m(2), the printing clarity was increased significantly.
