摘要
The paper undertakes the issue of challenges carried by demographic changes for the functioning of local government units. The review portion of the paper discusses the concepts of silver economy as responses to population ageing. The empirical part comprises an analysis of results of research which covers diagnosis and assessment of problems that affect the elderly in the context of development of the silver economy. Research was conducted using the CAWI method and concerned local government units in Poland. Nevertheless, it must be pointed out that the undertaken problem has not been a subject of in-depth analysis so far. Hence, the article fills the identified research gap in this field.
