- [31] I just helped care for a 27-year-old woman recently who had a ventricular fibrillation arrest; after a long and difficult course, including ECMO, she left the hospital with "CPC 1" status, but had personality and alertness issues that were distressing to family. It took several weeks to improve, and she now still has some very subtle personality changes a month out. Is this delayed postanoxic encephalopathy?
