Empirical model of transport and decay of aircraft wake vortices

摘要
An earlier empirical model of the transport and decay of aircraft wake vortices was extended to include the effect of the decrease in the vortex circulation caused by ambient turbulence and shear, the shear-induced tilt of the vortex oval, and the initial roll-up phase. In addition to simulating the vortex bounce frequency observed near the ground, the resultant model can already simulate the accelerated decay of the down-wind vortex in crosswind shear.
