Project-based learning through the Internet

This article presents the development and evaluation of a web-based lesson that was for project-based learning This research project employs the Quasi-Experimental method to investigate the effects of project-based learning at the senior high school level. Some remarkable results are as follows: (1) There were 81 discussion threads related to feedbacks about others' plans in the online forum. Twenty-nine of them (about 36%) were used for revisions in students' final reports. (2) 40 percent of discussion threads were to provide opinions or methods for the improvements of others' trip plans. (3) Students whose scores in CT were below one standard deviation in either type of information comprehension made the most progress after instruction. Students' performances of science inquiry were found during the activities of project-based learning; such as making sense of others' plan, seeking useful information, giving advises, criticizing and reflecting on their ideas.
