Numerical investigation for the room with displacement ventilation and cooling ceiling system

If the vertical temperature difference in room caused by thermal delamination of displacement ventilation is too high, people may feel uncomfortable. To increase the cooling capacity of air-conditioning systems, the combination of displacement ventilation and cooling ceiling can not only improve the indoor air quality, enhance the thermal comfort but also make energy saving. In this paper, based on the model of CFD, a numerical simulation of the temperature field, indoor airflow field and thermal comfort in room with and without a cooling ceiling was processed by using a finite-volume method, and the result of the simulation was analyzed to give some pieces of advice to engineers or designers.
