A Study on the Multimedia-aided College English Teaching

摘要
There are different opinions on multimedia-aided teaching. The purpose of this research is to further explore the students' attitudes towards the multimedia-aided teaching and its effectiveness in teaching college English. By way of questionnaire and tests, the author carried out an experiment of multimedia-aided teaching lasting three terms. The questionnaire result indicates that 77.3% of the students like multimedia-aided teaching but there are also some problems in multimedia-aided teaching. The tests results show that there is no significant difference between the control class and the experimental class before and after the experiment (p > 0.05 in all independent samples t tests). In empirical way, this study shows that both multimedia-aided teaching and traditional teaching method can achieve best as long as the teacher make full use of the existing conditions to carry out their teaching philosophy.
