Factors and Impact of Arab Spring in the Middle East

Arab Spring is the people's uprising or revolution in the Arab world. The waves of this uprising are the people's protest against oppression and tyranny of the ruling regime as well as their demands for restitution of their rights. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to analyze the Arab Spring which is happening in some Arab countries in the Middle East. In addition, this article examines how the turbulence was triggered and identifies the factors which brought about the people's demonstrations as well as determine the impact of the Arab Spring. This research uses a qualitative method, i.e., document analysis approach to analyze information from authoritative sources to ensure the validity of information obtained. Research results show several factors as the main causes of this phenomenon. The impact of the event has already brought the downfall of regimes in a few Arab countries. In fact, day after day, people are suffering in their lives because of the chaotic situation while the death toll and massive destruction of property increase.
