摘要
We present the Padma architecture - a system architecture for multisession adaptive multimedia systems (AMSs) where the perceived quality of each session is dynamically adapted to the change of resource availability and user preferences. This architecture is based on the Utility model for qualify adaptation in AMSs, and uses metaspaces to encapsulate the machinery of quality adaptation. The former provides dynamic adaptation and improved resource utilization, and the latter provides the programmers of distributed multimedia applications freedom from the concerns of low-level resource management issues.
