Opportunities for the use of computer-based media in pharmaceutical training and education

The revolution in computer technology has been all pervasive. In the pharmaceutical industry, computer technology has been put to effective use in automation of many aspects of research and development. At the same time there has been a dramatic increase in regulatory requirements including stringent requirements for training and validation of training. In this review, the authors suggest how advances in computer technology, coupled with the rapidly declining costs, will ensure an increasingly sophisticated and important future for computer-based training and education within the pharmaceutical industry.
