Scattering of Surface Waves by a Discontinuity in Surface Impedance

摘要
This paper employs the Wiener-Hopf method to analyse the scattering of a surface wave at the junction of two cylindrical supporting structures of arbitrary surface impedance. Approximations to the reflected, transmitted and radiated fields are derived and calculated for various examples. In calculations involving Sommerfeld wires, we establish the importance of the surface resistance which has been neglected in previous works.
