摘要
Augusto dos Anjos (b. Paraiba, 1884, d. Minas Gerais, 1914) was a very singular Brazilian poet. During his short life he was author of a single book (Eu, 1912), and recognition was slow, coming only from the end of the 1920s. Today, though, as well great popularity, despite the difficulty of his verses, he enjoys near-unanimous critical acclaim as one the greatest Brazilian poets of the twentieth century. This essay aims to survey some poetic images of his antitropicalism, showing their relationship with literary modernity, through, amongst other features, his radical negation of the ideas of nation, nationality and state.
