Measurements of coupling losses in superconducting cable-in-conduit conductors effected by internal transverse electromagnetic-forces

摘要
In order to elucidate the dependence of the internal electromagnetic-forces on the inter-strand coupling loss in superconducting cable-in-conduit conductors, we develop new measuring system, This system enables us to measure the coupling loss of large scale conductors with transport current of 20kA and the transverse magnetic field of 3.22T bias in the wide frequency range of the super-posed ripple field of 0.1 similar to 300Hz. The data of the measurements show that the of loss is only a little in the frequency range to the extent of the electromagnetic-force of 0.44MPa in the case of IS-conductor of the poloidal field coil for LHD.
